The USACA 11th Annual Catchball Tournament, Daytona Beach, Florida

A year and a half ago, I touched a catchball for the very first time — and it was truly love at first touch. What started as curiosity quickly became one of the biggest passions in my life. Catchball gave me so much more than just a sport. It gave me purpose, strength, confidence, and an incredible community of women who lift each other up both on and off the court. As the captain of a brand new team, I had the privilege of growing together with an amazing group of ladies. We learned together, struggled together, celebrated together, and built something that became so much bigger than just games and practices. Watching our team evolve from a group of individuals into a true family has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Catchball became my outlet — the place where I can challenge myself, release stress, feel empowered, and reconnect with myself no matter what life brings outside the court. It taught me leadership, resilience, teamwork, and the importance of showing up for one another. I am endlessly grateful for this sport, for the opportunities it created, for the friendships it brought into my life, and for the joy it gives me every single day. Catchball is not just a hobby for me anymore — it became part of who I am. My biggest hope is to see this beautiful sport continue to grow and reach more women, touching their lives the same way it touched mine. Every woman deserves to experience the strength, connection, confidence, and sense of belonging that catchball brings. It has the power to change lives — and I truly believe it already changed mine.

For me personally, Catchball was life changing. Once introduced to the game, I fell in love. The team dynamic, the social aspect, and the ease with which I could start practicing, even though I was 265 lbs at the time and had no athletic abilities were great reason to stick around. From a full-time mom and housewife, my life turned around. Catchball motivated a huge life change, all due to my desire to be a great player. I started taking care of ME, for a change, giving physical and mental health high priority. I added routine workouts, changed my eating habits, and started a process that ended with me loosing over 140 lbs. I love Catchball so much, that I even opened a Catchball brand, Catchball World, where I design and sell Catchball themed products. But the best part is the pure joy and empowerment I gained and the new supportive community of amazing women I met thanks to Catchball.

About a year ago in Feb 2024 Vered found me at LVAC and gave me a card that read Catchball, as though she explained it to me, I still wanted to research it for myself. I seen the website, and I got on YouTube to learn more. I came to one practice and was sold. Full Transparency this sport came at the perfect time as I manifested to engage in something that continued my journey of loving myself to learn. I hadn’t worked with women in this capacity by since grade school, and am thankful how this sport bridges the gap of learning different cultures/backgrounds especially in a climate where racism is prevalent. To be fair I was nervous, through sportsmanship I’ve come to see that we have a-lot more similarities than differences. This is what is most gratifying . Our team is the most diverse and truly represents Catchball USA as in the USA we are enriched with different cultures . I’m forever invested in Catchball and look forward to continuing this sport as long as my knees work lol.

I started playing Catchball six years ago looking to try a new sport and meet new people. It was love at first spike…Catchball has been such an important part of my life ever since; I look forward to playing, competing, and hanging out with a wonderful community of women, all sharing the love for this game. I hope to keep playing for years to come.

Over the past nine years, my journey with Catchball has been nothing short of transformative. What began as a simple curiosity evolved into a passion that has touched every aspect of my life. Catchball isn't just a sport; it's a community, a lifestyle, and a source of endless joy. Through countless games and practices, I've not only honed my skills on the court but also cultivated lasting friendships with fellow players who share my love for the game. Catchball is more than just fun and games; it's also been instrumental in keeping me healthy and active. The dynamic nature of the sport ensures that every session is a full-body workout, helping me stay fit and energized. As I reflect on these past nine years, I'm filled with gratitude for the experiences, memories, and lessons that Catchball has given me.
